'Leeds, you’re next': 90s dance icon declares city one of her favourite places ahead of Millennium Square show

Livin' Joy vocalist Janice Robinson has shared an emotional message to West Yorkshire music fans ahead of fronting a massive orchestral 90s dance revival show

A legendary 1990s dance music icon has revealed that Leeds remains one of her absolute favourite cities in the world to perform in, ahead of a spectacular open-air celebration this weekend.

Taking to Instagram while walking down a street in the city, singer-songwriter Janice Robinson - the powerhouse voice behind Livin’ Joy’s global chart-topping house anthem ‘Dreamer’- sent an excited message directly to her West Yorkshire fan base.

In the video shared on Instagram, Robinson told fans she "can't wait to see all your beautiful faces" for what promises to be an epic night of club anthems.

She added, "Leeds has become one of my favourite cities to perform in. The love you show me is always overwhelming, and every time I step on that stage, I feel it with all my heart.

“Let’s sing, dance, celebrate, and make it a night to remember!"

The performance lands at a particularly exciting moment for the vocalist, who has just officially re-released a brand-new, reimagined version of ‘Dreamer’ for a whole new generation, following the original 1994 multi-platinum classic going viral on TikTok.

The superstar vocalist won't be taking to the stage alone. The massive throwback party is set to feature a spectacular collaborative billing of some of the biggest names in electronic music history.

Sharing the stage is Leeds' very own pioneering electronic duo Utah Saints, alongside a 50-piece live orchestra to give the era's biggest dance tracks a massive, sweeping sonic treatment.

The star-studded line-up also features a live performance from special guest vocalist Rozalla, who will be delivering her timeless global anthem ‘Everybody's Free (To Feel Good)’, alongside live sets from UK rave legends Shades of Rhythm and resident DJ Andi Durrant.

Janice Robinson will perform live for the massive Club Classical Ibiza open-air showcase at Millennium Square this Friday (June 26). Final tier general admission tickets are still available and can be secured right now through the official event box office hubs at Millennium Square Leeds and Opera North.
