Prog rock veterans The John Hackett Band announce 10th anniversary show with Heather Findlay
Former Genesis collaborator John Hackett brings his celebrated four-piece to Leeds alongside ex-Mostly Autumn vocalist Heather Findlay
Progressive rock veterans The John Hackett Band have officially announced a return to Leeds as part of a major autumn tour celebrating a decade together as a four-piece line-up.
Led by flautist John Hackett - best known for his 1970s collaboations with his brother, former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett - the group brings a rich blend of prog rock, jazz, funk, classical, and pastoral flute textures to West Yorkshire.
Embodying the classic spirit of progressive rock, the band features John’s signature flute work alongside lead guitarist Nick Fletcher - hailed by Steve Hackett as "probably the best jazz-rock guitarist in the country" and ranked among the top 10 progressive rock guitarists by Prog Magazine.
Backed by the rhythm section of bassist Jeremy Richardson and drummer Duncan Parsons, the group will perform brand-new tracks alongside 'Classic Hackett' gems from the golden era of prog.
Joining the show as a special guest is former Mostly Autumn lead vocalist Heather Findlay.
Hailed by Maverick Magazine for her "pure, crystalline voice" and lauded by Prog Magazine for her "deliciously sultry vocals", Findlay will showcase a set spanning her 30-year career in music before joining The John Hackett Band on stage for several collaborative songs.
Celebrated for their dynamic, technically accomplished live sets, the performance seamlessly bridges lyrical flute passages with intricate instrumental flourishes.
Fusing elements of rock, jazz, classical, and funk, the concert promises an engaging, close-quarters experience tailored for local music enthusiasts.
