The Kirkstall Calverley Cutter was a scenic trail challenge held this morning (Saturday) that saw those taking part run 16km from The Bridge Inn in Kirkstall.
The trail features the Leeds–Liverpool Canal, the River Aire and the steep Calverley Cutting before finishing back at The Bridge for a well-deserved pint.
A new record was set this year, with Thomas Hodgson finishing the run in an hour and 45 seconds.
The first female to finish was Lara Dickinson with a time of an hour, 30 minutes and 59 seconds.
There was also the 10km Kirkstall Bridge race, which takes runners up and down the canal.
Organiser Adam Nodwell said that it was the seventh time the event had been held and that he had set it up due to finding the route “an inspiring place to train”.
