When is Leeds Festival taking place in 2026?
This year’s edition of Leeds Festival runs across the August Bank Holiday weekend, from August 27 to August 30
Early Entry pass holders can access the campsite from August 26.
What time are gates opening for the campsites and arena at Leeds Festival in 2026?

With major live music kicking off on Thursday night this year, campsites are once again set to open early for early birds looking to pitch up and secure prime tent space as soon as possible.
Holders of an Early Entry Pass can access the Bramham Park grounds from midday on August 26, while standard Weekend ticket holders will be admitted from 3am on August 27.
Once open, the campsites remain accessible 24 hours a day right through until midday on August 31, when all campers must vacate the site.
For those heading into the festival arena itself, gates open slightly later on Thursday to accommodate the opening evening's entertainment.
The Main Arena will welcome festival-goers from 5pm through to 12:30am on August 27, giving fans plenty of time to catch opening stage sets and Thursday night Main Stage headliners Kasabian.
Across the main weekend, from August 28 through to August 30, arena gates will open much earlier at 11am each morning, closing at 12:30am each night following the headliners.
How do I get to Leeds Festival 2026?
By car
Driving to Bramham Park remains one of the most popular options for weekend campers loaded with gear, and festival parking is included in the price of all weekend tickets.
Organizers stress that motorists should turn off sat-navs once approaching the site and follow the yellow event signage on key routes, as junction accesses are tailored specifically for festival traffic flow:
- From the South (A1M / M1): Traffic along the A1(M) Northbound will be directed from Junction 41 via Junction 45 (Grange Moor/Wattle Syke roundabouts), onto West Woods Road and Thorner Road, entering the site via Paradise Way into Brown Gate. Drivers on the M1 Northbound merge onto the A1(M) at Junction 47 before following the same Brown Route signage.
- From the West and East (M62): Motorists traveling on the M62 will merge onto the A1(M) Northbound at Junction 32a before exiting at Junction 45 to join the Brown Route into Brown Gate.
- From the North (A1 / A1M): Traffic approaching Southbound on the A1(M) or from York via the A64 must follow the White Route signage, exiting at Junction 44 onto Paradise Way to enter via White Gate.
For those being dropped off or picked up, driver access is strictly restricted to the dedicated Pick-Up and Drop-Off Zone off York Road (A64), clearly marked with zones A through J.
Note that a mandatory one-way system (Westbound towards Leeds only) will operate on the A64 between the Fox and Grapes pub and the A1(M)/A64 roundabout from 04:00 AM on Wednesday, August 26 through to 15:00 PM on Monday, August 31.
By shuttle bus
For those arriving by train or staying in the city centre, the dedicated First Bus shuttle service is the primary connection between Leeds city centre and Bramham Park.
Operating continuously from Sovereign Square Park (just a short walk from Leeds Train Station), the shuttle runs throughout the day and night from August 26 through to August 31.
Tickets can be purchased in advance or on the day via the First Bus app by selecting the Leeds region and navigating to the Promotions section.
By coach
Big Green Coach is returning as the official travel partner for 2026, offering carbon-neutral return coach travel directly into the Bramham Park bus terminal, eliminating the need to haul luggage through Leeds Train Station.
Weekend return services run from dozens of pick-up locations across the UK - including Manchester, Sheffield, Newcastle, Liverpool, Birmingham, and London - arriving on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday and returning on Monday morning.
For day ticket holders, dedicated Day Return coaches are available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, timed to arrive before the music starts and depart after the main stage headliners finish.
What should I bring with me to Leeds Festival 2026?
While knowing what to leave at home keeps entry lines moving smoothly, packing the right essentials ensures you survive four days in the fields of Bramham Park without unnecessary trips to the medical tent or welfare hubs.
Essential documentation and money
- Valid Photographic ID: Essential for bar access and entry under Challenge 25 (original passport, full or provisional driving licence, or PASS accredited card).
- Digital Tickets: Download your tickets to your phone wallet before arriving, as mobile signal around Bramham Park can become congested during peak entry hours.
- Payment Methods: Leeds Festival remains a cashless event, so ensure you bring debit/credit cards or have mobile contactless payments set up.
Prescription medication and medical conditions
If you live with a long-term medical condition or take regular daily medication - whether for physical conditions like asthma, diabetes, or epilepsy, or ongoing mental health treatments such as anti-depressants - festival organizers encourage you to bring your full supply for the weekend, alongside key precautions:
- Original Packaging: All prescription medication must be kept in its original pharmacy packaging with the official dispensary label clearly showing your name and dosage instructions.
- Doctor's Letter or Prescription Copy: If you need to bring loose medication, daily pill organizers, or items not in original packaging, you should carry a copy of your doctor's prescription or a medical letter confirming your requirement.
- Temperature-Sensitive Meds: If you require refrigerated storage for medication (such as insulin), dedicated cooling storage facilities are available at both the main Medical Tent and Accessible Camping areas.
- Friend Awareness: Make sure at least one person in your camping group knows what medication you take and where it is stored in your tent in case you need assistance.
Camping and survival basics
- Weather-Proof Gear: UK Bank Holiday weather is notoriously unpredictable. Pack quality wellies or sturdy boots, waterproof outerwear, and warm layers for when temperature drops at night.
- Sun Protection & First Aid: Pack high-factor sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, plasters, blister pads, and basic over-the-counter pain relief like paracetamol or ibuprofen.
- Hydration: Reusable plastic or metal water bottles are permitted (must be empty or sealed soft drinks under 500ml when entering the Main Arena) to use at free water refill stations across the site.
- Power Banks: High-capacity portable phone chargers are essential for keeping your device active across the four days.

- Saturday, August 29: Brightening up for the weekend with pleasant sunshine and highs of 20°C.
