Leeds’ iconic Tetley Brewery comes alive again as historic ale festival returns

Beer drinkers raised a glass at The Tetley 🍻

More than two centuries after The Tetley name first became synonymous with brewing in Leeds, thousands of people are raising a glass at the home of beer.

The Great Exhibition of Prize Ales has returned until tomorrow with a new city centre home at The Tetley in Aire Park.

Organised by Kirkstall Brewery, the three-day festival will transform the historic brewery site into a showcase of Britain’s rich brewing traditions, featuring specially recreated historic ales from breweries across the UK, alongside street food, live music and a packed programme of events.

Chris Hall, brand manager Kirkstall Brewery said: “Bringing The Great Exhibition of Prize Ales to The Tetley feels very fitting indeed.”

Our photographer Steve Riding was there yesterday to capture the first day of the action 🍻
