If you’re looking for a night out this (rather short) month, the line-up is varied enough that there’s usually something running on at least one of the stages most nights of the week.
The month starts with a heavy focus on stand-up and spoken word, including some high-profile names you’ll recognise from TV. There are also a few intimate, one-off performances that focus on storytelling and poetry, offering a quieter alternative to the bigger touring shows.
The main event for the month is a new in-house production of a Shakespeare classic. Rather than the usual summer setting, they’ve reimagined this one for winter, making it the flagship show for the next few weeks.
It’s the kind of production designed to be the centrepiece of their February calendar.
Beyond the main stage, the rest of the month is filled with a mix of family-friendly ballet, mystery thrillers, and a new ghost story to finish things off.
We’ve listed the current diary of events at the hallowed Leeds venue so you can see exactly what’s coming up and when - and to book tickets, it’s just one visit to the Playhouse’s box office.
