Popular 'Mindful Lock-In' Night Market Returns to Leeds Corn Exchange for a third year

A popular market that promises a less-than-frantic shopping experience and a more community-focused approach is set to return to the city next month

The historic, independent-loving Leeds Corn Exchange is set to open its doors for a special after-hours shopping experience next month as The Mindful Lock-In Night Market makes its highly anticipated return.

Returning to the city for its third edition, the popular evening event follows a highly successful run last year that saw more than 500 visitors flock to the iconic Call Lane venue.

Designed to shine a spotlight on the city's independent makers, the night market aims to encourage a more thoughtful and deliberate approach to local consumer culture.

Organisers have curated a unique collection of brands that place a heavy priority on sustainability, inclusivity, and personal well-being. From slow production methods to ethical sourcing and meaningful design, the evening will showcase a diverse range of Leeds independents.

Visitors will meet the passionate creators behind these thoughtful brands, explore new local favourites, and enjoy a retail experience focused on intention rather than fast-paced impulse buying.

Speaking about the return of the event, Bianca Cross, the founder and event director of Mindful Market, expressed her pride in bringing the community together.

"As a city, Leeds thrives on creativity, community, and independent spirit, and that’s exactly what the Mindful Lock In Night Market is here to celebrate. Our aim is to create a space where people can slow down, discover brands that truly care about their craft, and feel the impact of choosing to shop mindfully. Every brand & retailer involved pours intention into what they sell, and every purchase made is a vote for a more conscious, connected way of living.

"I’m so incredibly proud to bring this together inside the Leeds Corn Exchange, a place that has always championed independents at their best and already the best place to shop more mindfully in Leeds."

The market is intentionally designed to extend far beyond a standard shopping trip. Positioned as a major social event in the local calendar, the night will also feature a lively mix of food, drinks, and good music, making it the perfect destination to kickstart the weekend alongside a collective of people looking to support positive changes for both people and the planet.

On the lower level of the building, a curated Mindful Pop-Up Marketplace will be set up to host the visiting independent brands.

Simultaneously, the resident retailers housed permanently inside the Corn Exchange are collaborating with the event to offer exclusive, one-night-only deals, discounts, and interactive incentives for shoppers.

To navigate the bustling evening, visitors will be given a unique shopper guide and map tucked inside the event's official newspaper, which will be filled with plenty of things to read and see. Shoppers who purchase at participating retailers can claim a gold star to add to their map as they explore the building.

When is the Mindful Lock-In Night Market taking place in Leeds?

The Mindful Lock-In Night Market is taking place on June 19 at the Leeds Corn Exchange on Call Lane.

The evening kicks off with a VIP Shopping Hour from 5pm to 6pm, with general ticketed shopping then running from 6pm until 9pm.
