National Let’s Laugh Day: 19 shows coming to Leeds over the next month, including Glee's first birthday

Today marks National Let’s Laugh Day - a global nudge to find the humour in the everyday - but in Leeds, the punchlines are just getting started.

While the official celebration is a one-day affair, the city’s comedy circuit is currently boasting one of its densest schedules in years.

The timing couldn't be better, as the city also prepares to celebrate a major milestone: The Glee Club Leeds is turning one.

Since opening its doors in March 2025, the venue has become a powerhouse for the local scene, and it's celebrating its first anniversary next week with a blockbuster line-up featuring the likes of Joe Lycett and Russell Kane.

Though let’s not discount the offerings taking place each weekend at HiFi Club, while Carriageworks and The Wardrobe are also playing host to some side-splitting names over the next month too.

From the towering physical comedy of Greg Davies at the First Direct Arena to the surrealist ‘horror’ of Garth Marenghi, here’s our picks of 19 performances you can catch in the city over the next 30 days.
