Pokémon Day 2026: 15 locations around the city for Pokémon Go enthusiasts to explore and catch 'em all

Today marks a pop cultural milestone that has been three decades in the making, and showing signs of growth still to this day.

30 years ago, the first trainers stepped into the Kanto region, and today, Leeds is set to become a hub for those looking to celebrate that legacy.

Since the original Pokémon Red and Green debuted on the Game Boy in 1996, the franchise has transformed from a niche handheld RPG into the world’s most valuable media property, from books and movies to plushies and even its own theme park.

But while the global focus is on the massive Pokémon Presents broadcast at 2pm GMT - rumoured to reveal the first look at Generation 10 - you might have some free time on your hands to occupy, be it a seasoned collector or someone just picking up Pokémon Go for the first time.

To help you make the most of the Friday morning grind, we have identified the 15 most productive areas for Pokémon (PAPs) in Leeds, with these spots are expected to be the epicentre of the city's "Road to Kalos" celebrations.
