Screen Babble’s verdict on SNL UK - and best to worst British to American TV exchanges
Spring might have sprung but there are still plenty of reasons to stay inside and watch TV.
Screen Babble is back for yet another episode and it is quite the episode this time around. Hosts Kelly Crichton and Matthew Mohan-Hickson tackle the first-ever season of Saturday Night Live UK.

The discussion includes the moment that Matt actually had hope for the sketch show - even before it began. Plus the biggest surprise he had - having never actually watched a full episode of the American version.
Kelly and Matt talk about their early impressions from the first three episodes - what works, the best host so far. You can find Screen Babble on your podcast platform of choice, or see the link embedded below.
Due to the start of SNL UK, attention also turned to other British-American TV exchanges. Kelly looks at some of the biggest successes - cough The Office cough, cough.
Meanwhile, Matt takes on the UK shows that really didn’t make the jump across to the other side of the Atlantic. The infamous list includes a version of The Inbetweeners that definitely didn’t happen - and a troubled attempt at American Gavin & Stacey.
But it is not all doom and gloom, the episode opens with much excitement for the arrival of The Pitt on this side of the Atlantic. Matt has finally started the first season - despite being worried about it living up to the hype.
Fortunately, spoiler alert, the show is absolutely fantastic. Tune in to hear the full discussion.
