After another dramatic year of huge reveals and shock twists, The Masked Singer has come to an end.

The celebrities have been unmasked and the winner has been crowned. Host Joel Dommett and the all-star panel will have to wait until at least Christmas before they get the chance to guess who is under the masks once again.

The seventh series of the beloved ITV show came to an end on Valentine’s Day (February 14) - and they say romance is dead.

Back before we had ever really heard the word coronavirus, the Masked Singer made its big debut on ITV. Starting in early January of 2020, it brought the popular format to the Saturday evening schedule.

Among the contestants in the first season of the reality competition, singer Skin - of Skunk Anansie fame - was revealed to be Duck, making it all the way to episode six. But did you realise that in 2021 she assumed the role of Chancellor at Leeds Arts University.

In late 2023, Skin was announced to be staying on in the position for another three years.

Series 2 - Mel B

A name that needs no introduction, Scary Spice is one of the city’s most famous daughters. However, despite her long music career, she didn’t make it far in the second series of The Masked Singer.

Mel B was revealed to be under the Seahorse mask in just the second episode. She was eliminated after a performance of Can't Get You Out of My Head by Kylie Minogue.

Series 4 - Chris Kamara

The Masked Singer has featured plenty of big names over the years - but Chris Kamara might be very near the top of that list. The football legend - and former Leeds player - was in the cast for series four of the show.

Kammy, who calls Wakefield home, was Ghost but unfortunately he was the first celeb to be unmasked back in 2023. He did get to perform Save the Last Dance for Me before he was eliminated.

But he was not the only local representative in the fourth season…

Series 4 - Ricky Wilson

While Kammy might have been eliminated very early in the season, Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky almost went all the way. He ended up making it to the final and just missed out on winning.

The Keighley-born rock star, who went to Leeds Grammar School and Leeds Metropolitan University, was revealed to be under the Phoenix mask. He finished in second behind fellow rocker Charlie Simpson.
