A new day is dawning at The Traitors Castle. The BBC’s mega-hit is back for another season to kick-start 2026.
Returning for series 4, a fresh group of players have stepped through the famous doors and the game has begun. Claudia Winkleman has selected her Traitors and the roundtable beckons.

What time is The Traitors on today?
Having started its new series last night (January 1), The Traitors is set to continue this evening (January 2). It will be back at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer, it has been confirmed.
The Traitors is due to run for just over an hour yet again, finishing at 9.05pm. In a twist to the schedule, companion show Uncloaked will follow on BBC One, instead of BBC Two.
How many players are on The Traitors this year?
The 2025 edition of the beloved reality series saw the cast increased to a huge 25, leading to a very early elimination twist. Although those players did get a chance to return in later episodes.
For the fourth season, The Traitors will have the usual 22 contestants. They will all head into the castle as faithfuls, before Claudia makes her picks and the games begin.
Is it a regular or celebrity version this time?
Fans were treated to two seasons of The Traitors last year, including the blockbuster Celebrity version. The new series starting today (January 1) will be a regular civilian version.
They will be competing to try and win up to £120,000. Celebrity Traitors winner Alan Carr has a message for the new players: “Good luck, you're definitely going to need it!”
When is the Traitors next on TV?
In the two most recent seasons, the show has kicked-off on a Wednesday with episodes following on Thursdays and Fridays. Due to New Year’s Day taking place on a Thursday, the schedule for the first week has been changed up slightly.
The Traitors will return tomorrow (January 3) - in a series first. It will also start at the earlier start of 7.45pm on Saturday.
