UK’s biggest toddler festival, TOTFest, to take over Wetherby Racecourse next month

The UK biggest festival dedicated to under-5s is set to take over Wetherby Racecourse in May.

TOTFest Yorkshire, one of the UK’s largest festivals dedicated exclusively to children under five, is returning to the area next month, bringing more than 50 interactive activities and a brand-new sensory experience to Wetherby Racecourse.

The event, which has welcomed over 110,000 visitors nationwide since 2018, is designed to give toddlers a ‘free-roam’ festival experience tailored to their developmental needs.

This year marks a significant expansion in inclusivity as the festival debuts the Rainbow Crew Sensory Story Lab. Supported by Arts Council England, the dedicated space will feature tactile sensory panels and small-group sessions led by specialist facilitators, offering creative play specifically designed for children with additional needs.

Major family brands are also joining the lineup this year. BABY born is set to host a hands-on role-play zone alongside an outdoor cinema, while Kiddylicious will bring a food-themed sensory play area complete with product sampling.

The wider festival highlights include active play options such as a purpose-built toddler scoot park and expanded water play areas, alongside entertainment ranging from silent discos and live performances to the return of The Rainbow Crew® characters. To encourage creativity, the site will also host dedicated storytelling, music sessions, and immersive craft zones.

Speaking ahead of the event, Creative Director and Co-Founder, Kerrie Goude explains: "We design everything around how children under 5 actually move and play. This year, expanding our sensory provision was a priority.

We want to create an environment where every family feels included, and every child can follow what sparks their interest."
