Ally McBeal music icon Vonda Shepard announces Leeds concert on new UK tour - date and tickets
The voice behind one of the late-Nineties' most iconic television soundtracks is heading to the historic Leeds City Varieties Music Hall this autumn
Get ready to channel your inner dancing baby - one of the definitive voices of late-90s television nostalgia is heading to Leeds this autumn.
Vonda Shepard, the powerhouse singer-songwriter who shot to global fame as the musical backbone of the hit US legal comedy-drama Ally McBeal, has officially announced a brand-new UK tour later this year.
The tour arrives almost exactly two years since her last string of barnstorming, sold-out UK dates. It will see the award-winning recording artist return to these shores to play a set packed with greatest hits, fan favourites, and soul-stirring tracks from her extensive back catalogue.
A dedicated recording artist since the late 1980s, Shepard became an overnight household name in 1997 when she was cast as the resident bar performer in Ally McBeal.
Week after week, characters played by Calista Flockhart, Robert Downey Jr., and Lucy Liu would wind down from their eccentric courtroom battles in the basement bar where Shepard held court at the piano.
The show, which celebrates its landmark 30th anniversary next year in 2027, owes a massive part of its cultural legacy to Shepard's music; she produced over 500 tracks for the series during its wildly successful run, including the iconic, global hit theme song ‘Searchin' My Soul,’ which stormed the UK Top 10 in 1998.
Commenting on her return to the UK stage, Vonda Shepard said: “I always have so much fun performing for my fans in the UK. It’s an absolute joy to reconnect with everyone, and I can’t wait to come back and see everybody again this autumn."
