Wakefield’s Live at Tileyard North announces major new 2027 act

Wakefield’s summer concert series has added another major name to its growing 2027 line-up

Wakefield’s new Live at Tileyard North concert series returns this summer for its second year, with a line-up that’s shaping up to match its inaugural run in 2026.

The outdoor concert series launched last year with Sophie Ellis-Bextor, The Fratellis, Ocean Colour Scene and The Vaccines, firmly establishing it as one of Yorkshire’s most exciting live music additions.

Today, organisers have announced a new addition to the 2027 series, with former Glastonbury headliners Levellers joining the previously announced hometown heroes The Cribs as part of this summer’s programme. It marks the band’s first concert in Wakefield in 10 years.

Levellers formed in Brighton in 1988, quickly establishing themselves with their platinum-selling debut album, A Weapon Called The Word, released in 1990.

Their alternative punk-folk-rock sound took them to the pinnacle of British music when they headlined the Pyramid Stage at the 1994 Glastonbury Festival.

Levellers will bring their four-decade back catalogue to Grade II-listed Tileyard North in Wakefield on Saturday, August 28, 2027, with support from shanty punk band Skinny Lister and folk rockers Mad Dog Mcrea.

General sale opens at 10am on Friday, November 6, on Futuresound.

A postcode pre-sale for Wakefield residents will open at 10am on Wednesday, November 4, also through Futuresound.
