Yorkshire Evening Post Carol Service returns at Leeds Minster - how to get tickets
Leeds Minster is set to fill with the sound of music with the return of the annual Yorkshire Evening Post Carol Service next week.
Tickets are on sale for the event which will see the Minster’s choir and the YEP Brass Band perform on Thursday, December 4 from 7pm.
The event is free but cash or card donations on the door are encouraged with the money being split between the Minster and Martin House Children’s Hospice.
The service will support the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas Appeal with a collection of presents for disadvantaged children taken during the service.
The Yorkshire Evening Post-backed initiative encourages people to buy one extra gift to spread the Christmas cheer to thousands of disadvantages kids across the region.
In 2024 Mission Christmas collected £14.8 million in gifts and cash donations, which were used to make sure that 289,596 children and young people had presents to open on Christmas Day. Locally, this meant that 16,588 children in North and West Yorkshire were able to open a gift on the big day.
Presents need t be left unwrapped, or the charity cannot accept them.
There will be refreshments available to purchase both before and after the service.
There will be a variety of festive readings and Duncan Wood, formerly of ITV Calendar, will read a special Christmas poem to round off the service.
Tickets are now available.
