Altofts pupils design flag for nearby housing development
Pupils in Altofts have been getting creative for a competition organised by Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire to design a flag that will be used to welcome people to their village development.
The housebuilder challenged pupils at Altofts Junior Academy to design a vibrant and imaginative flag to fly at its Frobisher Meadows development.

The pupils created a range of colourful entries, giving the Taylor Wimpey team a tough decision to decide on a winner. In the end, eight-year-old Olivia took the top prize and received a £50 Amazon voucher. Her design is now flying high at Frobisher Meadows, in Station Road.
Asma Gul, Art Co-Ordinator at Altofts Junior Academy, said: “The competition was a great success.
The children were very enthusiastic and focused whilst creating their flag designs. "They also asked lots of questions about the new Taylor Wimpey development, as our school is located close to Frobisher Meadows.
"Thank you so much to Taylor Wimpey for providing our children with the opportunity of taking part in the competition, they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”
Sam Evans, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, said: “It’s wonderful that pupils at Altofts Junior Academy took up our challenge to design a flag for us.
"Picking a winning design was a tough challenge with so much artistic talent being shown, and we’re really pleased that the pupils had fun creating their designs.
"Olivia’s colourful flag looks fabulous at the development, and makes for an eye-catching welcome for people visiting the site.”
