Celebrating Bradford returns to spotlight city’s growth
Council representatives and local businesses across West Yorkshire came together in Leeds on May 13 for the return of Celebrating Bradford, a networking event showcasing the city’s continued economic progress and future potential.
Hosted at Mumtaz, the event brought together more than 60 influential figures from across Bradford’s business and public sectors.

Celebrating Bradford provides a platform to share ideas and hear more about the key economic development initiatives that are underway and any exciting future prospects for the district.
The 2026 event was delivered in collaboration with the West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, Barratt and David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West, and the Bradford Property and Economic Forum.
Alongside celebrating economic progress, the evening also supported a vital local cause, raising funds for Bradford Hospitals Charity’s ‘Home from Home’ appeal, which aims to create a dedicated accommodation facility for families with babies receiving intensive care at Bradford Royal Infirmary.
The project will provide free, on-site accommodation close to the neonatal unit, helping families stay together during some of the most difficult times, with facilities including bedrooms, communal spaces and family support areas.
David Coe, Development Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West, said: “We’re delighted to have supported the Celebrating Bradford event again this year following its previous success. We hope everyone who attended greatly benefitted from the discussion, and we are thrilled to also raise funds for the ‘Home from Home’ campaign for Bradford Hospitals Charity.”
Laura Riach, Director of Bradford Hospitals Charity, said: “Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit cares for some of the most vulnerable babies - born as early as 22 weeks or critically unwell - in Bradford, across Yorkshire, and beyond.
“For any parent, having a baby in intensive care for weeks or even months can be incredibly difficult, often meaning leaving their baby overnight or sleeping in uncomfortable chairs at their baby’s cot side. This new unit will mean families can stay just steps away from their baby, in comfort and at no cost - I cannot describe the relief this gives families, both emotionally and financially.
“We are so grateful to Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West for inviting us to their event and generously donating to the appeal. As leaders in the property industry, they understand that a home is more than just bricks and mortar.”
Barratt and David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West is building new homes near Bradford at Wadsworth Gardens in Cleckheaton, West End Green in Halifax, and The Skylarks in Calderdale.
