A community-based crown green bowling club in a town near Leeds has received a donation from Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire to help with the refurbishment plans for its clubhouse.

Located in Yeadon Park, in Kirk Lane, the family-friendly club offers seasoned players and newcomers the chance to join a casual roll-up or play competitive matches, as the club is registered with the Aire Wharfe Crown Green Bowling Association.

Reid Harrow, Secretary for Yeadon Park Bowling Club, said: “We pride ourselves on having a welcoming atmosphere and cater for all members of the local community, taking part in league games and competitions. We also hold open days and put teas and coffees on for the public at the clubhouse.

“We pride ourselves in the quality of our facilities and the bowling green, and so we are keen to refurbish the clubhouse and we’d like to thank Taylor Wimpey for their support.

"The donation will certainly be put to good use in helping us continue to welcome people to the club.”

Sam Evans, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, said: “We strongly believe in giving back to the communities in which we build and supporting people beyond our developments, especially in grassroot sports, and so we were delighted to be able to support Yeadon Park Bowling Club.”

Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire currently has developments around Leeds, including Woodside Vale, in Clayton Wood Road. For more information about Woodside Vale, Leeds, visit, www.taylorwimpey.co.uk/new-homes/leeds/woodside-vale
