Housebuilder donates £1,500 to West Yorkshire horse riding charity

Barratt and David Wilson Homes has donated £1,500 to Middleton Park Equestrian Centre, a Leeds based charity supporting disabled people through innovative equestrian programmes that enhance well-being, health, and confidence.

Part of Riding for the Disabled, Middleton Park Equestrian Centre is a registered charity that has been providing riding sessions for both disabled and non-disabled clients across Leeds for over 30 years.

Originally established to support disabled individuals in an underprivileged area of the city, the Centre continues to offer inclusive experiences that enrich lives through horses.

In addition to riding lessons, the charity provides work experience placements for local schools, colleges, and young adults who are currently unable to work due to disabilities.

Anna Burke, Centre Manager at Middleton Part Equestrian Centre, said: “We were delighted to hear from Barratt and David Wilson Homes that we would be receiving this generous donation of £1,500.

“The Centre relies on donations and fundraising to help towards the cost of running and for the purchase of new horses to help us with the work we do.

“We would like to say a big thank you for the donation and congratulate Barratt and David Wilson Homes on the idea of the Community Fund scheme. There are many charities, like us, that are in dire need of both donations and awareness of what we do.”

Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ donation was made as part of The Barratt Redrow Foundation, which is designed to support national and local charities, large and small, across the UK to leave a legacy in the communities in which the housebuilder operates.

Gavin Birch, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West, said: “Charities like Middleton Park Equestrian Centre are exactly why we created our Community Fund scheme. It’s amazing to see the impact they’re making, and we’re proud to support their inspiring mission. We hope our donation helps them continue their incredible work.”
