Leed Federated colleagues and residents from its older persons schemes at Cragside Close and Fewston Court joined the celebrations on Friday 13 March, helping to plant 10 trees to mark the occasion.

The not‑for‑profit organisation reached its 50‑year milestone across 2024/2025 and has spent the past two years marking the occasion with a series of community‑focused activities.

As part of the celebrations, Leeds Federated’s Community Spaces team raised a total of £1600 in donations from its partner organisations, including Fast Waste Solutions Ltd, Matt Sellars Tree Surgeon, Atlas FM Cleaning, White Horse Cleaning Services, and PlaceShapers.

The team has been busy planting a variety of trees from Amelanchiers, Hawthorns, Beech, Rowans, Yews and even Cherry blossom across Leeds, Wakefield, and North Yorkshire. They carefully selected sustainable locations to ensure the trees can thrive in years to come.

Leeds Federated is a housing association that provides around 5,00 affordable homes to customers across homes across Leeds, Wakefield, Kirklees, and North Yorkshire.
