Leeds fitness challenge targets motivation in late January

A Leeds health club is encouraging members to stay focused on fitness as January continues, with a new challenge designed to maintain motivation and consistency.

The initiative is being run at the Cardigan Fields health club on Kirkstall Road and forms part of a nationwide Bannatyne challenge.

Taking place from January 19-30, the Make Your MOVE’s challenge uses Technogym MOVE’s to track physical activity generated through cardio workouts completed in club.

Members take part by logging into cardio equipment using the Bannatyne smartphone app, with MOVE’s automatically added to their club’s total. The club with the highest score at the end of the challenge will receive a new trophy and recognition as challenge champions.

According to Clare Mackie, the challenge is about helping members see the benefit of staying consistent.

“January can be demanding, especially when routines are settling in,” she said. “MOVE’s help members understand the value of every workout they do.”

The challenge is open to members and staff of all fitness levels, with MOVE’s calculated based on individual effort rather than experience, making participation accessible for everyone.
