Local homebuilder gives funding boost to Leeds childhood cancer charity
Housebuilder Redrow has donated £1,500 to help a Leeds-based charity continue its vital work supporting children with cancer and their families.
Redrow Yorkshire made the donation to Candlelighters via the Barratt Redrow Foundation.

Founded in 1976, Candlelighters provides emotional, practical and financial support from the point of diagnosis and for as long as families need it.
Its services include counselling and talking therapies, family support workers, financial grants, accommodation close to Leeds Children’s Hospital, wellbeing activities, family events and bereavement support.
Candlelighters also funds vital childhood cancer research and specialist hospital roles, helping to improve treatment, care and outcomes for young patients.
Jemma Mcmahon, partnerships executive at Candlelighters said: "We're so grateful to the Barratt Redrow Foundation for their incredibly kind donation that will support children and young people with cancer in Yorkshire.
“Candlelighters doesn't receive any government funding, so donations like this are vital to ensure our support and services can continue.
"This brilliant amount could fund a respite holiday for a family, giving them the opportunity to make happy memories and improve wellbeing."
Redrow Yorkshire’s sales director Steve Jackson said: “Redrow is committed to support the communities where we build.
“This amazing charity provides a lifeline to many people families, offering support when it is needed most. We are proud to support their efforts and hope our contribution helps them reach even more families and continue making a positive impact in the community.”
Redrow Yorkshire is currently building nearby at Centurion Fields. The development will feature 200 properties, with a selection of three and four-bedroom designs.
