Realise gives Rothwell Juniors the VIP treatment for cup final day
Teenagers at a junior football club in Leeds were given the VIP treatment on their way to their cup final – thanks to the support of a local training provider.
Realise Training Group provided Rothwell Juniors Under-16s with a bus to travel to and from their Leeds and District Cup final clash at Elland Road.
After a nervy journey to the home of Premier League giants Leeds United, the music was turned up for the way home after the Rothwell youngsters cruised to a 7-0 win over Shadwell United.
Realise offers a variety of training programmes in West Yorkshire and across England, including bus driving.
Rothwell Juniors manager Jamie May said: “Not only was it a cup final, it was also the team’s last game together at grassroots level before adult football next year, so we wanted to make it a bit special.
“Obviously they usually just turn up in dribs and drabs in their parents’ cars, so to all travel together on the bus made it a bit special. They all felt like professionals for the day.
“It was a bit quiet on the way – perhaps they were thinking about the game ahead - but they were celebrating together on the way home. We’re grateful to Realise for making it happen.”
Realise employee Matthew Flynn, whose son plays for Rothwell Juniors, introduced the club to the training provider.
Paul Smith, Head of Transport Academy at Realise, said he was pleased to help make cup final day even more special.
“Our training bus was not being used on that day so when Rothwell asked if we could help, we thought why not,” said Paul.
“Many young people dream of being a professional footballer and we were happy to be able to give the team a little taste of the high life aboard the Realise bus.”
