Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire donates more than £13,000 to Leeds homelessness charity
Kind-hearted staff at Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire helped to raise more than £13,000 during 2025 for a Leeds-based homelessness charity.
The donation will help St George’s Crypt, in Great George Street, continue its work to transform lives through its Pathway service to break the cycle of homelessness and dependency.

The organisation was picked as Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire’s chosen charity for 2025, with staff based at its headquarters in Wakefield working hard to raise the money.
Fundraising saw seven members of staff join the Leeds Big Sleep, while others took part in a Tour de France-inspired cyclathon. Staff cycled on a static bike the distance from their head office to the Eiffel Tower - 475 miles - over the course of a week. Other activities included bake sales, tuck shops, and food days where people donated cash to enjoy various foods. Around £9,000 also came from subcontractor sponsorship.
It is not the first time Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire has supported St George’s Crypt. Last year they were chosen to be the beneficiary of a washbag initiative led by CRASH, a national charity that helps the homeless.
The regional business donated 192 washbags to the charity.Lisa Waugh, Managing Director at Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, said: “We are really proud of everyone at our regional office for the work and dedication they have shown in raising money. It is clear that the staff here are passionate about supporting St George’s Crypt.
“I am told that when they dropped off the wash bags as part of the Taylor Wimpey winter campaign 2024, they got to meet some of the charity’s team, who are amazing people. Everyone was really blown away by how much they do, as they don’t just provide food and a bed for the night, they provide access to GPs, physiotherapy, dentists, they have a drug and alcohol abstinence program, and are creating residential centres.
“Our team members knew straight away that they wanted to make St George’s Crypt their charity for 2025.”
The team also coordinated clothing donations throughout the year, with a dedicated collection point at the head office. They also donated chocolate oranges and selection boxes which were given on Christmas Day.
Larger items such as wall heaters, ovens, fridges and washing machines were also donated to support the charity’s residential units.
Richard Leavis, Corporate Fundraiser at St George’s Crypt, which helps more than 1,500 people every year, said: “We are very grateful for everyone’s support at Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, who have gone above and beyond to support our work and help us continue to offer care, compassion and hope to the homeless, vulnerable and those suffering from addiction.”
