Beth Lomas, Active Travel Manager at EPIKS, said: “We wanted to create something that feels welcoming and gives people the chance to have a go without any pressure. Bringing the event to two different locations also means more people across Kirklees can get involved and discover what’s available on their doorstep.

“We’re really pleased to be working alongside so many brilliant local organisations to offer such a wide range of free activities. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re already active or you’re looking for a little encouragement to get started. It’s also great to be able to offer these events during the summer holidays, giving families and individuals alike the chance to enjoy their local parks in a different way.”

The weekend is being delivered by Environmental Projects in Kirklees, EPIKS, through its Walk Wheel Ride Kirklees programme, with support from Little Bikers, Thread Republic, Experience Community, Streetbikes, Wood’s Bicycle Servicing and Repairs, Oakwell Cycles, Everybody’s Cycling and the Neighbourhood Policing Team.

The events are funded by West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Kirklees Council.
