West Yorkshire Homebuilder Strengthens Partnership With Castleford Tigers
Barratt and David Wilson Homes is announcing a new and enhanced partnership with Castleford Tigers Rugby League Football Club, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the local community and the future of rugby league in West Yorkshire.
The wide-ranging partnership covers kit and player sponsorships for the upcoming season, while also supporting a series of initiatives designed to benefit the club both on and off the pitch.

As part of the partnership, Barratt and David Wilson Homes will help to create development pathways for the club’s disability and women’s teams, ensuring more inclusive opportunities for players of all backgrounds to participate and progress within the sport.

The developer is also working with Castleford Tigers to establish new career pathways for rugby league players into the construction industry, providing guidance, skills development and employment opportunities beyond their playing careers.
Earlier this year, Barratt and David Wilson Homes donated £1,500 to the Castleford Tigers Foundation, the charitable arm of the club, which delivers community programmes across the region. The donation was used towards a new wheelchair for the team.
Castleford Tigers, founded in 1926, has a long and proud history within the sport and remains a cornerstone of the local community, attracting thousands of supporters to The Jungle (Wheldon Road) each season.
Craig Jeffels, Commercial Director at Castleford Tigers Rugby League Football Club, said: “Securing Barratt Homes as an official kit partner for the next two years is a major step forward for the club. Their backing strengthens our commercial programme and helps us continue to drive the Tigers brand to new heights. Both organisations have deep roots in our community, and this investment reflects real belief in what we’re building here at Castleford Tigers, both on and off the field.
“We are proud to have them on board and excited about the positive impact this partnership will bring over the next two seasons.”
Barratt and David Wilson Homes has established a strong presence across the local area, with a number of developments supporting housing growth in the region.
Among these is The Confectionery in Castleford, an upcoming Barratt Homes development set to deliver 170 new properties to the town later this year. In addition, the developer is progressing plans for City Fields in Wakefield, a future scheme that will provide a further 300 homes.
In nearby Pontefract, Barratt Homes currently has properties available at two developments: Sandy Gate View and De Lacy Mews, which comprise 154 and 71 homes respectively. Early next year, the developer is also launching Parkside, a new development in Pontefract that will deliver 129 homes.
Meanwhile, David Wilson Homes is contributing to local housing provision with Castle Syke Grange in Pontefract, a 55-home community.
Gavin Birch, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be expanding our partnership with Castleford Tigers, a club that plays such an important role in the local community.
“As a leading housebuilder, we’re also dedicated to investing in the areas where we build, and our developments in Castleford, Pontefract and Wakefield will provide high-quality homes to meet local demand while contributing to the long-term growth of these communities.”
