Yorkshire businessman becomes choir master as caregivers bid for Christmas No.1
A Yorkshire-based businessman has brought together nine UK caregivers to record a new version of Robbie Williams’ iconic 90s hit ‘Angels’ in a bid to take the charts by storm and become the Christmas No.1.

Following the Home Care Got Talent final earlier in the year, Dan Archer, UK CEO of Visiting Angels and the competition’s founder, was challenged to create a Christmas No.1 using the singers discovered over the past two years. Hoping to make that dream a reality, he created the Home Care’s Got Talent Choir.
The caregivers travelled to the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London to record the single, joining the long line of music legends who have performed there over the years.

The iconic location also serves as the backdrop for the single’s music video which offers a behind-the-scenes look at the recording as well as footage of the caregivers with their clients: watch the preview here.
Alongside the angelic voices of the caregivers, the recording also features other famous music industry names ‘The Voice’ musician Kuill and Bucks Fizz star Jay Aston.
The choir believes that with the public’s support, the single can surpass the original version’s chart success in 1997 at No.4 and go all the way to No.1.
Raising awareness of the incredible work caregivers do to support clients in the comfort of their own homes, the single has another positive purpose at its core.

All profits raised by the single will be donated to the Care Workers’ Charity, dedicated to supporting the social care workforce, those providing care and support to the million-plus people drawing on social care.
In particular, they provide crisis support, mental health initiatives and advocacy for fair treatment, pay and recognition.
Dan explained: “When I was challenged to create a Christmas No.1 using the amazing singers we discovered through the competition, Robbie’s ‘Angels’ seemed like the perfect fit.
"When you listen to the lyrics, they speak to what carers do ‘and through it all, she offers me protection’!
“The journey to get here has been brilliant. Not only do we have nine amazing care workers in the choir, but we’ve also had the support of industry heavyweights to bring this together.”
This charity version of ‘Angels’ is available for pre-release from November 21 and can be streamed on all music platforms from Friday November 28.
