New pictures show first look of new Lidl store at Moor Allerton Centre in Leeds
First pictures show what new Lidl store could look like - if plans are approved
Supermarket giant Lidl has given a first look at what its new store in north Leeds would look like if city planners give the scheme the green light.
Part of the Moor Allerton Centre, off King Lane near the outer ring road, would be converted to make way for the store.
Some existing buildings would be demolished if Leeds City Council agrees to planning permission.
A new community space would also be created in front of a council-run library and advice centre at the site.

A design report said: “A new public space with seating and landscaping is proposed in front of the existing Moor Allerton Community Hub.”
Both the community hub and a pub at the site would be retained if plans go ahead, Lidl said.
Changes to an existing car park would provide 187 spaces, including 12 disabled bays and two electric vehicle charging spaces.

The report said: “The reconfigured car park will include new tree planting within the car park and a comprehensive landscaped buffer around the edges.”
A full planning application to build a 2,200sqm store with a bakery, warehouse and delivery facilities is out for consultation until June 18.

Lidl previously consulted people living nearby as part of pre-application discussions.
The consultation web page said: “The design and appearance of the scheme could change following this consultation or indeed following comments from the council after the application has been submitted.”
Retailers already based at the Moor Allerton Centre include Sainsbury’s and DIY outlet Wickes.
