'We have loved shaking your cocktails': Leeds Revolution Electric Press closes its doors for last time
The team behind a popular Leeds bar have said farewell as it closes its doors for the last time.
Revolution Electric Press is one of a handful of bars across the country to close after The Revel Collective, one of the UK’s best known bar operators, entered administration.
The move has triggered the closure of 14 Revolution bars, six Revolucion de Cuba venues and one Peach Pub.
And it has resulted in 591 job losses, with administrators saying that rising costs and weaker spending by younger customers made parts of the business unsustainable.
But the shake-up is not the end of the road for the group’s brands. Administrators at FTI Consulting have confirmed that large parts of the business have been sold, securing the future of 41 other venues and protecting 1,582 jobs.
Over the last two decades the site at Electric Press has served up cocktails and welcomed party-goers.

In a statement on social media the team behind Revolution at the Electric Press said: “We have loved shaking your cocktails and creating unmissable parties ad events over the years, but as of January 27, we are sadly closing our doors in Leeds Electric Press.
“We want to extend an enormous thank you for joining the Revolution party and making some unforgettable memories.
“Any guests with bookings will be contacted in due course - thank you for your patience and understanding.
“For any guests looking for their next party, your nearest Revolution is our Leeds Call Lane Bar.
“Goodbye and thank you x”
The company said it has been hit by a combination of higher operating costs, including energy and wages, alongside more cautious consumer spending. Younger customers, in particular, are going out less often as budgets tighten.
