There is nothing quite like the love, loyalty, and companionship of a rescue dog - and right now, the kennels at Dogs Trust Leeds are filled with wonderful residents desperately searching for a second chance at happiness.
Whether you are looking for a gentle, slow-paced companion to share the sofa with, a clever training partner eager to learn new tricks, or even a ready-made double act of bonded best friends, the Leeds rehoming centre in West Yorkshire has a furry match for a wide variety of households.
This month, the dedicated team at the centre is highlighting 18 listings featuring 19 incredible dogs who have found themselves in rescue through no fault of their own.
Some are currently thriving in local foster homes, while others are patiently waiting in their kennels for that special connection.
Could you offer the perfect environment for one of these beautiful pups to flourish?

7. Indy (Bulldog Crossbreed, 2 years old)
Indy has a great brain and is highly food-motivated, making ongoing training a fun, rewarding way to build up his confidence. He needs someone around all the time initially to establish a good routine, and his adopters should be confident handling larger, strong dogs. | Dogs Trust Leeds

8. Opie (Collie Labrador Crossbreed, 8 years old)
Opie wants to be everybody's friend and is highly food-motivated, making him a dream to train. Typical of his Collie heritage, he is quite noise-sensitive and requires a peaceful, adult-only home with no other pets. He is currently reactive toward other dogs, so he remains a slight work-in-progress who needs to be walked in quiet areas where he can enjoy his space. | Dogs Trust Leeds

9. Kaye (Cane Corso Crossbreed, 2 years old)
Handed over through no fault of his own, Kaye can be a little worried by the big wide world, but he is building his confidence quickly with patience and tasty treats. He requires a calm, quiet, adult-only home with a secure garden where he can enjoy playing off-lead. While he needs walks in quieter areas initially, Kaye is very social and could successfully live with a well-mannered doggy role model. | Dogs Trust Leeds

10. Martha
Found as a stray while still healing from eye surgery, this resilient girl has overcome a lot but remains understandably worried by strangers, other dogs, and the big, wide world. Once Martha builds trust, however, she is an absolute delight—playful, inquisitive, affectionate, and bursting with classic, silly Shar Pei personality | Dogs Trust Leeds

11. Bluebell (Maltese, 5 years old)
Rescued from an incredibly difficult background, this sweet, sensitive little lady has made remarkable progress through slow, consistent training and is now ready for a patient forever home. Bluebell remains timid and is uncomfortable with handling, so she requires a peaceful, adult-only environment with a secure garden to feel safe in. | Dogs Trust Leeds

12. Edie (Shar Pei, 7 years old)
Beautiful Edie has spent most of her life patiently waiting for someone to see just how special she is. Though initially shy, she is an incredibly gentle, loving soul who will soon nudge you for a bit of fuss once tasty treats are involved. Edie was the perfect, fully house-trained houseguest during staff sleepovers and loves nothing more than chilling out and snuggling. | Dogs Trust Leeds
