Meet 'brilliant' golden oldie Teddy the 13-year-old Akita searching for a new home at Leeds Dogs Trust
This 13-year-old gentleman has been quietly stealing hearts for more than four months at Leeds Dogs Trust.
But this golden oldie is still searching for one thing - a place to call his forever home.
Found as a stay with no known history, Teddy may be getting on in years, but staff at the rehoming centre say his zest for life tells a very different story.
Kevin Johnson, dog welfare assistant at Leeds Dogs Trust, said Teddy has been with the centre on York Road for just over four months.
Sadly they have no history of his background and know that he was found as a stray in Ireland.
But his sparkling character has already started to shine through as being a dog who loves to play, enjoys walks and is also very affectionate.

He told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “We seem to be struggling to find someone who wants an older boy like Teddy.
“He’s 13 years old and getting on a little bit - he’s full of life and character.
“He’s a cracking dog and will make someone a really good companion. We just need someone who can see beyond his older years.”
When it comes to the right home for Teddy, Kevin said he prefers a taste of the quiet life and away from the hustle and bustle.
But he certainly shows no signs of slowing down.
Kevin added: ““We’re looking for someone with a quieter home. he likes a quiet peaceful life.
“The ideal would be for someone that can see all the great stuff about him like we do and offer him a final forever home.
“We don’t know anything about his history and has certainly not slowed down being an older dog.

“He loves to play and enjoys his walks - he’s very affectionate.
“He likes being around people and getting fuss and attention
“But he also likes to have a quiet chilled life.”
The team are unsure about what Teddy’s living situation was before and suggest it might take a little time to settle the pooch down in his new home.
But they said he is bright and quickly picks up new things.
Kevin added: “We know he will make someone a brilliant companion.”
Anyone who is interested in giving Teddy a new home can visit the Dogs Trust website or visit the site at York Road without any appointment to discuss whether they might be the perfect match for him.
