Leeds to see the sunshine once again this week as Met Office forecast reveals heatwave climb

Summer is firmly on the horizon for Leeds as temperatures are set to climb day-by-day this week, peaking at a brilliant 24°C with minimal chance of rain

Leeds residents can officially dust off their sunglasses and prepare for a glorious, uninterrupted climb in temperatures this week as a prolonged spell of high pressure settles firmly over West Yorkshire.

After an unpredictable start to the month, the city is finally set to bask in a sustained period of blue skies and bright sunshine.

According to the latest data from the Met Office, temperatures across Leeds will rise incrementally day by day, transforming the region from comfortable June warmth into a bona fide summer scorcher by the time the weekend approaches.

Forecasters track the mercury climbing steadily from Monday morning, with the summer conditions culminating in a spectacular midweek surge, bringing consecutive days of peak 24c heat to the city, offering the ultimate conditions for beer gardens and outdoor plans and Father’s Day.

Alongside the rising temperatures, the city will experience exceptionally dry conditions, with the risk of rainfall staying below a negligible 5% for the vast majority of the week.

However, it is not entirely flawless news for everyone.

Health officials and meteorologists have issued a warning for hay fever sufferers to take necessary precautions over the coming days.

The warm, dry air moving across Yorkshire will trigger consistently high pollen counts throughout the week, meaning those sensitive to grass and tree pollen should prepare for difficult conditions despite the picture-perfect blue skies.
