Leeds weather: Date temperatures to soar in Leeds as Met Office predicts prolonged warm spell
The Met Office is forecasting temperatures to reach 25°C in Leeds.
Temperatures are forecast to soar in Leeds at the weekend, as the Met Office predicts a prolonged spell of above-average temperatures.
The Met Office says conditions will remain unsettled in the lead up to the warm spell, with a showery regime to dominate for most of the week. This is expected to include some brighter interludes, but also plenty of showers, some of which will be heavy with a chance of hail and thunder in places.
Paul Gundersen, Met Office Chief Forecaster, said: “Temperatures across the UK will remain below average for most of this week and it’ll often feel rather chilly, but in the sunny spells between showers, the strength of the June sunshine will provide a short-term boost making conditions feel pleasant in sheltered areas.”

The weather is expected to improve at the weekend and forecasters anticipate that the warm spell will last well into the following week at least.
Steven Keates, Deputy Chief Meteorologist, said: “From this weekend the UK forecast will have a distinctly warmer and drier component with a prolonged spell of above-average temperatures, with values in some locations quite likely to reach 27 to 29°C, with the potential for higher values than this.”
