In an announcement on social media, National Lottery warned users that it would be making ‘significant improvements’ to its app and website this weekend. The work started on Saturday (January 24) night and was due to finish before the end of Sunday (January 25).

However, users continue to flock to DownDetector to report problems on Monday (January 26) morning. Hundreds have logged problems with the app and the website.

In a post on social media, National Lottery explained: “Over the weekend of 24th/ 25th January, we'll be making a series of planned upgrades to The National Lottery's app & website.

“From 11pm on Saturday 24th, after the draws, our app and website will be unavailable until the end of the day on Sunday 25th January.

“These are the most significant improvements since 2009 and will lay the foundations for us to deliver a better experience for you in the months and years ahead.

You won't be able to see or claim any prizes online or log into your account until our systems come back online. However, customers who win on Saturday night will be notified by email as normal.”
