Its online map explains: “Delays of seven minutes and delays increasing on M62 Eastbound between J24 A629 (Ainley Top) and J27 M621 (Gildersome). Average speed 20 mph.”

Further back down the M62, there are also minor delays between J24 and J25. AA adds: “Delays of one minute and delays easing on M62 Eastbound between J24 A629 (Ainley Top) and J25 A644 Wakefield Road (Brighouse). Average speed 30 mph.”

The AA Traffic map is also showing slow moving traffic on the M621 near Holbeck, with queues also building on the A643.

For those who are heading westbound this morning, there is some disruption due to a road traffic collision. Highways England Traffic map is showing that two lanes out of three are closed between junctions J22 and J21 currently.

This disruption is expected to clear between 8.15am and 8.30am. The map shows that traffic is not currently moving in that area.
