M62 partly shut ‘all day’ due to emergency repairs - full details

Drivers warned of disruption on M62 ‘all day’ ⚠️

An earlier spillage is set to cause disruption on the M62 throughout the day, it has been announced.

Emergency repairs are required on the eastbound side of the motorway, Highways England has said. One lane will be shut all day today (June 25) with roadworks set to take place overnight.

It comes after a lorry spillage yesterday (June 24), which continues to cause disruption. Commuters travelling by train once again face cancellations due to the ‘extreme’ heatwave.

On X (formerly Twitter), National Highways: Yorkshire warned: “The #M62 eastbound at J25 (#Brighouse) between the entry and exit slip roads has 1 (of 2) lanes closed due to a spillage.

“Resurfacing work is planned to take place overnight so the lane closure will be in place throughout the day.

“There are no delays on the approach.”
