The heatwave is causing even more trains to be cancelled 🚨
Rail passengers are being warned of even more travel chaos in Leeds as the ‘extreme’ heatwave continues to bring disruption.
A number of trains were cancelled yesterday (June 24) as the temperatures passed 30 degrees. An amber heat health warning remains in place today (June 25) and temperatures will continue to remain warm.
LNER previously warned passengers not to travel between June 24-25 due to the heatwave. More details here.
National Rail’s online timetable tracks all of the cancellations to and from Leeds City Station currently. We will be updating this article throughout the day again.

In a warning, TransPennine Express has said: “Although TransPennine Express are expecting to run a normal service over this period, you are strongly advised to check before you travel on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June. Services across the network may be subject to short-notice changes and alterations.”
LNER has also warned: “With the hottest temperatures forecast for Wednesday 24 June and Thursday 25 June, LNER strongly recommend that you do not travel across the LNER route on these dates.
“For safety reasons, Network Rail may need to introduce speed restrictions in certain parts of the country on these dates, increasing journey times and reducing the number of train services able to operate.”
Meanwhile, Northern added: “Across the Northern network, there will be disruption to services and some trains will not run. You are advised to check your journey before you travel.”
