M62 traffic: Leeds drivers warned of 50 minute delays on M62
Motorists are being warned of huge delays on the M62 this afternoon.
AA Traffic and Highways England are both reporting extremely lengthy queues on the westbound carriageway of the motorway today (February 25). Some drivers were also caught in traffic on the road earlier in the morning.
On its travel map, the AA explains: “Severe delays of 45 minutes and delays increasing on M62 Westbound between J28 A650 Bradford Road (Tingley) and M62 (Hartshead Moor Services). Average speed five mph.”

Highways England adds that the disruption is between junctions J28 and J26 on the westbound side of the M62. The delays were caused by a broken down vehicle resulting in two lanes having to be shut.
The lanes have since reopened, but the disruption continues. In a post on X at 3.35pm, National Highways: England wrote: “This broken down vehicle has now been recovered, and all lanes have re-opened on the #M62 westbound in #WestYorkshire between J26 (#M606) and J25 (#Brighouse).
“A 50 minute delay and 6 miles of congestion remains in the area but should now start to ease. Thanks for your patience”
