Tesco tells customers not to eat meal deal favourite - it could make you sick

A major supermarket is recalling pots of fruit after salmonella was found in the product.

Tesco is urgently asking customers to not eat specific batches of its grape and berry medley. The recall is for products with the use by dates of February 16 and 17.

The 230g pots form part of the supermarket's meal deal, serving as a healthy snack option. However, testing of the product detected salmonella leading to the recall.

Customers are advised by the Food Standards Agency: “Symptoms caused by Salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

“If you are experiencing these symptoms, you should stay away from work, school or nursery until you have stopped having symptoms for at least 48 hours to avoid passing it on to others.”

The recall has been issued for Tesco Grape & Berry Medley 230g with the use by dates of February 16 and 17.

If you have bought any of the affected fruit pots do not eat it. Instead, return it to any Tesco store for a full refund.
