The compact Anker plug offers 50W of shared power across four connections, although buyers will need to provide their own charging cables

This £15 Anker plug could replace four chargers in your travel bag

Holidaymakers and households trying to tame a growing collection of charging plugs can now pick up a four-port Anker charger for less than £15.

The Anker Zolo 50W USB-C charger has fallen to £14.99 in an Amazon limited-time deal, down from its £19.99 recommended retail price. The 25% reduction saves £5 on both the white and black versions.

Rather than providing just one socket, the compact Anker four-port charger combines two USB-C ports with two conventional USB-A connections. It can therefore power four compatible devices from a single UK wall socket, reducing the number of plugs needed beside the bed or packed for a trip.

That could prove particularly useful in hotel rooms where accessible sockets tend to be treated as a rare natural resource.

The charger delivers a maximum combined output of 50W. When its two USB-C ports are used together, Anker says the first maintains an output of up to 30W while the second supplies up to 20W.

That should be sufficient for fast charging many compatible smartphones, tablets, earbuds and smartwatches. The product listing names recent iPhones, Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones alongside several iPad, AirPods and Apple Watch models.

Although the 50W Anker charger can supply four devices simultaneously, buyers should not expect every connection to receive the maximum output at once. The available power is distributed between the ports, so charging speeds may fall when all four are occupied.

This is also primarily a charger for phones and smaller mobile devices. Some lightweight laptops may accept power from a 30W USB-C connection, but larger and more demanding machines often require considerably more wattage.

Its mixture of old and new port formats is one of the more practical details. USB-C is increasingly standard, but many households still own serviceable USB-A charging cables for watches, accessories and older devices. The Anker Zolo charging plug accommodates both without requiring an adaptor.

Anker describes the unit as compact and travel-ready, with GaN architecture helping to package its charging hardware into a smaller body. It also incorporates the company’s ActiveShield 4.0 protection system, which monitors temperature and performance continuously.

Amazon says more than 3,000 have been bought in the past month. The charger has an average rating of 4.7 stars from over 500 reviews and carries an Amazon’s Choice badge.

Customers also “usually keep” the item, according to the retailer, while free returns were being advertised when the offer was spotted.

There is one extra expense to consider. The £14.99 Anker charger does not include a cable, so anyone without suitable USB-C or USB-A leads will need to buy them separately. Charging speeds will also depend on the device and cable supporting the relevant standard.

The discount makes the charger an affordable way to simplify a bedside setup, create a central household charging point or reduce the number of plugs carried on holiday.

Amazon describes this as a limited-time deal, so the £14.99 price may rise or disappear without warning. Check the selected colour and final amount carefully before ordering.
