The compact Bluetooth earbuds offer boosted bass, fast charging and 22 equaliser presets for considerably less than their usual £29.99 price

A pair of true wireless earbuds with enough battery life to cover several days of commuting has dropped to £16.99 in a limited-time Amazon deal.

The white soundcore Anker P20i earbuds are currently 43% cheaper than their £29.99 recommended retail price, giving buyers a saving of £13. Other colour options were listed from £17.98 when the offer was spotted, making the white version one of the cheapest available.

That sub-£17 price is notable for earbuds from an established audio brand, but the popularity figures are arguably even more striking. The soundcore P20i has amassed an average rating of 4.3 stars from more than 112,000 Amazon reviews.

More than 4,000 pairs have also been bought through the retailer during the past month, while the earbuds carry an Amazon’s Choice badge.

Each earbud contains an oversized 10mm driver, which soundcore says produces powerful audio with boosted bass. Anyone who prefers a different balance can use the accompanying soundcore app to select from 22 equaliser presets.

The app also lets owners customise the touch controls and use a Find My Earbuds function. When activated, a misplaced earbud can emit a sound to make it easier to locate, potentially bringing an end to frantic searches down the side of the sofa.

Battery life is another strength of the discounted wireless earbuds. They provide up to 10 hours of listening from one charge, with the compact charging case extending the total available playtime to 30 hours.

Running out of charge just before leaving home should not cause too much trouble, either. A 10-minute fast charge is claimed to supply another two hours of playback.

The lightweight case has an integrated lanyard and is small enough to carry in a pocket or attach to a bag. Bluetooth 5.3 handles the wireless connection, while an IPX5 water-resistance rating means the earbuds are designed to cope with sweat and light rain.

For calls, the soundcore Anker P20i uses two built-in microphones alongside an AI algorithm intended to isolate the wearer’s voice more clearly. That could prove useful for phone conversations and online meetings, although performance will inevitably depend on background noise and connection quality.

There is one notable omission. The P20i does not offer active noise cancellation, so anyone hoping to suppress the rumble of a train or aircraft may need to spend more on a different model. The in-ear fit should provide some passive isolation, but it cannot replicate electronic noise cancellation.

Amazon was advertising free returns on the white version at the time the deal was found. Buyers should check the selected colour and final price carefully, as the variants are not all reduced to exactly the same amount.

For less than £17, the combination of 30-hour battery life, app-based customisation and an unusually extensive pool of customer feedback makes the soundcore P20i deal an appealing option for everyday listening.

As this is labelled a limited-time promotion, the £16.99 price could change or disappear without notice.
