'They need' - Daniel Farke told what he must do to answer Leeds United future questions

There has been increasing speculation over Daniel Farke’s future at Leeds United.

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has been told what he must do to end speculation over his future at Elland Road and preserve the Whites’ Premier League status.

Just six months have passed since the former Norwich City boss led his side back into the top flight at the second attempt as they saw off the challenge of Burnley to claim the Championship title on a dramatic final day of last season. With a hectic summer transfer window, the Whites made a solid start to life back amongst English football’s elite by claiming four points from home games with Everton and Newcastle United and an away day at title contenders Arsenal.

Further wins came against Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United - but defeats against the likes of Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur, Burnley, Brighton and Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest have ensured Farke’s men are sitting just one point and two places above the relegation zone ahead of Sunday’s home game with Aston Villa.

A run of form that now consists of just one win in their last six games has increased speculation over Farke’s long-term future at Leeds - although there has little to suggest the Elland Road hierarchy are contemplating a change at this point in time. Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has insisted there is no need for Leeds to panic just yet - but stressed they must ‘make Elland Road a fortress’ if they wish to avoid an immediate return to the Championship.

He told talkSPORT: “I was one of those [who thought Farke should be sacked], only because of what he did at Norwich. He started off the season well, but recent results haven’t been great. If you look at the league table, they’re on the same points as Fulham. They’re above Burnley, West Ham, Forest and Wolves, it’s not panic time yet. If they continue how they are now, they’ll end up with 38 points. I think that would be enough to stay up. I don’t think it’s panic stations yet, but they need to start making Elland Road a fortress.”
