Daniel Farke tipped to make shock move as Leeds United future speculation continues
Speculation over Daniel Farke’s future at Leeds United has made headlines in recent weeks.
Talk about Daniel Farke’s future at Leeds United has ramped up in recent weeks after a poor run of form left the Whites sitting just above the Premier League relegation zone.
The former Norwich City manager led the Whites back into the top flight last season as they topped the Championship table following a dramatic final day of a long and draining season. Farke’s promotion winning squad was boosted by the arrival of ten new faces during the summer transfer window as the Elland Road hierarchy authorised a spend of around £100m as the German prepared his squad to face the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United this season.
There have been some positives during the opening three months of the season as Leeds racked up wins against the likes of Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United. However, a run of just one win in their last six games had left Farke’s men sitting just one point and two places above the drop zone as the league action gave way to the third international break of the campaign.
There has been speculation suggested Farke’s future at Elland Road is now in doubt - although journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed the German remains ‘under control’ despite stressing results must improve ‘to avoid surprises’. One pundit has suggested Farke could make a shock move should the Whites opt to make a change in the dugout and one that would him return to familiar surroudings.
Speaking on the EFL All Access podcast about the managerial vacancy at Norwich City, pundit Adrian Clarke said: “Daniel Farke is probably the answer to those [questions], isn’t he? You just need Leeds, maybe, to pull the trigger on Daniel Farke, and then he can come home and turn Norwich around. Because I am sure, at some stage, this season, Leeds might consider making a change. He would be the ideal personality to come back and sort of save this team.”
