Graham Smyth makes Leeds United January transfer window prediction
Graham Smyth has been speaking about the upcoming January transfer window and what Leeds United will do
Leeds United will be looking to bring in some new faces next month when the January transfer window opens in a bid to help in their fight against Premier League relegation.
The Whites are currently sitting three points above the relegation zone but will not be taking their improved recent form for granted, as the chance to help their chance to stay up beckons when the market opens in a couple of weeks.
The forward line will be one all Leeds fans will be keeping an eye on to see where Daniel Farke will look to bring in additions, as putting the ball in the back of the net has been one of the main concerns throughout the opening part of this season.
Free agent summer signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin has proved in recent weeks that he can be the man to lead the line in their survival fight with five goals, more than some big summer signings, including Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko.
Graham Smyth Leeds United transfer prediction
Speaking on the Inside Elland Road podcast, Yorkshire Evening Post’s Chief Football Writer Graham Smyth has faith that deals will not be left to the last minute in the window and the right processes will be in place by the people at the top of the club, so the club are not left wanting late on.
“I have every faith in the [Adam] Underwood, [Robbie] Evans, Farke axis that they are going to deliver in a timely fashion this January, and they're not going to leave it to the last minute so that I have work to do,” Smyth said.
“It [deadline day] won't be on the 31st because the 31st is Saturday and that's the Arsenal game. They don't tend to have it on the day of a game. So, it'll probably be Monday, won't it? Even still, don't leave it. Have it done by the 15th, the 17th. Push it as far as the 19th if you absolutely have to.”
The January transfer window opens on Thursday 1 January 2026 and closes at 7pm GMT on Monday 2 January.
