Leeds United’s return to Premier League action at champions Arsenal ultimately ended in a 2-1 defeat - but how did we rate the performances?
Arsenal began brightly but without really creating any good chances and it was actually Daniel Farke’s Whites who had the best chance in a goalless first half, Gunners keeper David Raya producing a particularly good save to keep out a firm drive from Gabi Gudmundsson from an acute angle at the left hand post.
Leeds continued to threaten after the break and it was therefor no real surprise when James Justin fired them ahead with a brilliant finish to a Gabi Gudmundsson cross.
The lead though did not last long, United’s defensive hard work undone as Ricardo Calafiori got himself free to convert after Ben White had nodded a Noni Madueke cross back across goal.
The momentum was changing and Arsenal then went ahead as a flowing team move was finished off by a thumping finish from substitute Bruno Guimaraes.
Leeds United writer Lee Sobot hands out the scores.

1. James Trafford
6 - Surprisingly little to do in the first half but solid when called upon although kicking a bit hit and miss. But might have done better with the equaliser and also survived a big scare at the end. | Getty Images

2. Jayden Bogle
6 - Stood up well to Madueke and a threat at the other end too but unfortunately got in the way of a goalbound Stach shot and things became a lot harder in the final quarter of the game. | Bruce Rollinson/PA Wire

3. Gabi Gudmundsson
8 - Really bright, solid as a rock against Saka and caused lots of problems at the other end too, forcing a strong save from Raya. Fantastic cross to set up Justin's goal. | John Walton/PA Wire

4. Tarik Muharemovic
6 - Often the deepest centre back and another solid display to start with but harder after the break and booked. | Getty Images

5. James Justin
7 - Another who played a strong part in a solid defensive display in the first half and then supplied a brilliant finish to fire his men in front. | Getty Images

6. Nico Elvedi
7 - Probably the pick of the defenders in the first half, strong as an ox in battle with Havertz, but under the pump as the second half wore on. | Getty Images
