Chelsea vs Leeds United team news confirmed as kick-off delay explained
Leeds United’s Carabao Cup campaign continues tonight with a third round trip to Chelsea.
Leeds United are back in action this evening when they take on Chelsea in the Carabao Cup third round.
The Whites will walk out at Stamford Bridge looking to continue their unbeaten start to the season. Daniel Farke’s side have five points from three Premier League games and beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 in the previous round of the cup.
Hosts Chelsea were also unbeaten until last weekend, when a trip to Arsenal ended in defeat. The London club beat League One Luton Town 2-0 in round two of tonight’s competition.

Farke will be without Joe Rodon at Stamford Bridge, with the Welshman still expected to be out for around two months with a serious hamstring injury. His compatriot Daniel James is also a doubt after reporting a back issue last weekend.
James underwent scans which promisingly showed no new injury, with the winger expected to be involved in training and a late decision to be made. Farke will also have calls to make in terms of rotation across the board.
Gabriel Gudmundsson could be rested after playing 90 minutes on his return from a muscle injury at Brighton last weekend. Noah Okafor, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Anton Stach are among the group that could drop to the bench.
Farke also spoke in his pre-game press conference of a possible debut opportunity for Michael Zetterer, albeit a decision is yet to be made in the goalkeeper position. Fellow new signings Melvin Bard and Jean-Matteo Bahoya are also awaiting debuts.
The Carabao Cup third round is previously uncharted territory for Farke as Leeds boss but his side travel to Stamford Bridge in good form and confident to go even further. Tonight’s clash kicks off at 8pm and we’ll have live coverage all evening below...
