Every word Daniel Farke said on Dominic Calvert-Lewin injury & triple Leeds United injury blow ahead of Sunderland
Leeds United head to the Stadium of Light for their latest Premier League clash on Sunday.
Leeds United manager Daniel Farke will speak to the media later today ahead of this weekend’s Premier League trip to Sunderland.
The Whites head to Wearside on Sunday looking to maintain their impressive start to the season. Farke’s side have only lost once in seven league games - at reigning champions Arsenal - and came from a goal down to draw 1-1 at home to Manchester United last time out.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored his fourth Premier League goal of the season in that draw but was on the end of a painful Diogo Dalot challenge late in the game. The Leeds striker stayed down for a minute or so but managed to play through four minutes of added-time without looking particularly uncomfortable.

Following the full-time whistle, Calvert-Lewin was spotted tending to the knock on his left ankle but looked in decent spirits while shaking hands with the Manchester United players. The striker’s physical state is likely to be a leading topic this afternoon with Farke expected to provide some clarity.
Farke will also provide an update on two Leeds players who missed the draw with Manchester United. Joe Rodon is about to hit eight weeks since his hamstring injury against Brentford but as of last week, hadn’t been back in team training while Daniel James has sat out the last two games with a back issue.
Sunday’s Elland Road clash was the fifth Premier League game in a row in which Farke named an unchanged starting line-up, opting for a midfield three and front two. With attacking spark lacking on the day, expect the Leeds boss to be quizzed on any potential thoughts behind switching things up at the Stadium of Light.
Weekend hosts Sunderland currently sit bottom of the Premier League with four points from seven matches, an example of how quickly things can change for recently-promoted clubs. Expect Farke to speak fondly of his opposite number Regis Le Bris when he’s given a chance to share his thoughts on the Wearside club.
The Black Cats have also had a much busier week to contend with, travelling to Lech Poznan for a 1-1 Europa League draw on Thursday night and travelling back today. Leeds, meanwhile, have enjoyed an uninterrupted few days and Farke is likely to be quizzed on whether that will affect Sunday’s game.
Daniel Farke is due to speak with the media at 1.30pm. Stay tuned for live updates...
