'It'll be interesting' - Leeds United star Dominic Calvert-Lewin relishing Everton reunion

Leeds United will visit Premier League rivals Everton next Monday night.

Leeds United will make their first ever visit to Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium next Monday night - and the fixture will provide a memorable occasion for one current Whites star.

Just six months have passed since Dominic Calvert-Lewin announced his nine-year stay with the Toffees was coming to an end and he was immediately linked with a number of clubs across the Premier League and abroad before putting pen-to-paper on a three-year deal at Elland Road.

After a slow start to his time with Leeds, the 11-times capped England international grabbed his first Whites goal in a 3-1 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers in September before embarking on arguably the best goalscoring form of his career throughout the festive period. After scoring in a 3-2 defeat at Manchester City on the final weekend over November, Calvert-Lewin went on to score eight goals in nine games before drawing a blank in Saturday’s narrow win against Fulham.

That victory means Daniel Farke’s side maintained their eight-point advantage on the clubs currently occupying the Premier League relegation zone and they will now hope results elsewhere fall in their favour before they round off an intriguing weekend across the top tier with a visit to Merseyside next Monday night. Calvert-Lewin admitted he was ‘looking forward’ to his first visit to Everton following his summer departure and to taking a first look at their new home.

Speaking about the reunion with his old club ahead of Saturday’s win against Fulham, Calvert-Lewin told Sky Sports: "Yeah, obviously looking forward to it. It’ll be interesting going up against them, having played for them for so long, you know, seeing familiar faces, old faces, and also the new stadium, which I was a part of for a long time and seeing that get built and then to go and play there.

“It’s something I’m definitely looking forward to. But for me, I’m not going to say the cliche one game at a time because generally I look two, three games in front, two, three games in front. You know, you look to see who you’ve got coming up in in the near in the short term because then, you know, it compounds. So, no need to look too far ahead. I don’t look too far, but definitely, yeah, I’m looking forward to it.”
