Leeds United vs Fulham: Goals and highlights as Lukas Nmecha scores late winner at Elland Road

Leeds United welcome Fulham to Elland Road for another big Premier League clash this afternoon.

Premier League football returns to Elland Road this afternoon when Leeds United host Fulham.

Daniel Farke’s side beat Derby County 3-1 in the FA Cup third round last time out, with second-half goals from Willy Gnonto, Ao Tanaka and James Justin. The Whites have since had a full week to rest and prepare for league action and will hope to bounce back from their recent 4-3 defeat at Newcastle.

Before that defeat, Leeds had gone seven games unbeaten in the Premier League to pull eight points clear of West Ham in 18th. But there will be no complacency inside Elland Road between now and May, with plenty more points up for grabs starting today.

Speaking earlier this week, Farke revealed some positive injury news with a trio of defenders fit to feature against Fulham. Sebastiaan Bornauw’s adductor issue was not as bad as first feared, while Jayden Bogle and Joe Rodon have recovered from recent calf and ankle issues respectively.

Daniel James will not feature against his former loan club but is progressing in his recovery from a hamstring tendon injury. Sean Longstaff, meanwhile, got valuable minutes off the bench at Derby after a seven-week absence with a calf problem.

Elland Road might get a first look at Leeds’ new signing this afternoon, with Facundo Buonanotte’s six-month loan from Brighton confirmed in time for him to be eligible. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder could earn a place on the substitute’s bench if Farke deems him fit to contribute.

In-form Fulham are unbeaten in their last five Premier League games and have Leeds summer target Harry Wilson in red-hot form. The Cottagers will be without three key players due to AFCON, however, while another player on the Elland Road summer radar is also out, with Rodrigo Muniz undergoing hamstring surgery late last year.

With the game kicking off at 3pm, it will not be broadcast live on TV in the UK due to the Saturday blackout. There will be commentary on BBC Radio West Yorkshire and highlights later this evening, but for live build-up and coverage the YEP is your go-to place.

Stay tuned for all your usual build-up and pre-game chat, with team news dropping at 1.45pm. We’ll also keep you up-to-date throughout the 90 minutes with commentary and analysis, while post-match reaction will follow after full-time.
